GET presents Georgian economic situation monitor at business briefing of the BMWK business kick-off trip to the construction sector

As part of the BMWK’s business initiation trip to the construction sector in Georgia, the German Economic Team contributed to the business briefing for the business delegation on 20 June.

The opening remarks were delivered by Sven Giegold, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), who spoke about the BMWK’s market development programme, among other things. Peter Fischer, German Ambassador to Georgia, gave an overview of the economic and political framework conditions in Georgia.

Sebastian Staske, Project Manager for Georgia of the German Economic Team, gaye further insights into the macroeconomic situation in Georgia with a special focus on the construction sector.

Furthermore, there were contributions from Thomas Kimmeswenger, Managing Director of the German Economic Association (DWV), and Levan Batiashvili on EBRD financing of projects.
