Roundtable discussion on target groups and promotional measures to attract FDI to Albania
Albania is actively working to strengthen its position as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment, which can drive long-term economic growth. A recent policy study by the German Economic Team supports the Albanian government’s efforts to attract quality foreign direct investment. It identifies investor segments, on which the Albanian government can strategically focus investment promotion, and recommends tailored promotional tools.
On 7 November, the German Economic Team and the Foreign Investors Association of Albania jointly hosted a high-level roundtable in Tirana to present and discuss the study. The event provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas on how to translate Albania’s ambition into impactful policy action, bringing together representatives from ministries, embassies, international organisations and the private sector.
The study’s findings are based on analysing Albania’s existing legal and strategic framework and investment conditions, as well as current trends and patterns in international investment. The study recommends prioritising the tourism, IT & BPO, rubber & plastics and medical products sectors, while focusing on targeted investor outreach that allows for direct communication to address investors’ interests.

We would like to thank our partners at the Foreign Investors Association of Albania for the excellent organisation of the event and all contributors for their engagement.
