In July 2025, our Armenia country coordinator Dmitry Chervyakov and international expert Björn Vogler travelled to Yerevan to finalise a study on segmentation for investment attraction measures targeting German investors.

A new analysis of the German Economic Team focuses on monitoring potential sanctions circumvention of goods originating in the European Union, for which Armenia might be used as a re-export hub to Russia.

On 22 May, over 250 participants from the Kosovar government, the diplomatic corps, international institutions and the private sector gathered in Pristina for the 2nd Sustainable Investment Forum, organized by the European Investors Council. The forum focused on Kosovo’s path toward a greener and more sustainable future.

On 11 March 2025, the Café Kyiv took place in Berlin. The German Economic Team, in cooperation with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the German Chamber of Foreign Trade in Ukraine, organised a panel discussion on investment security.

On February 12, 2025, the Foreign Investor Association of Albania (FIAA) and the German Economic Team (GET) co-hosted the event “Improving the Business Climate – Boosting Investment: Proposals from International Investors in Albania” in Tirana.  

Our policy briefing, “CBAM and Kosovo: Economic implications and potential exemption for electricity exports to EU” examines the economic and regulatory impacts of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on Kosovo.

In the latest edition of the joint online event organised by CES and the German Economic Team, participants looked back at the major economic developments of the past year.

Since 2 January 2025, Moldova has used the euro as its reference currency, replacing the US dollar. A reference currency is a foreign currency used by the national central bank for foreign exchange market interventions and exchange rate smoothing.

On 19 December, the online event “Ukraine’s Economic Resilience Through Private Investment” took place, organised by the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UkraineInvest, the Centre for Economic Strategy, and the German Economic Team.

As part of the monthly joint events, the Centre for Economic Strategy (CES) and the German Economic Team (GET) presented the latest updates on Ukraine’s economic situation. This edition placed a particular emphasis on Ukraine’s fiscal policy.
